Founder and Principal Sasha Grebe is a senior government and corporate adviser with over 20 years’ experience in the successful development and implementation of corporate strategy and public policy.
Sasha is a qualified Project Manager, Institute of Company Directors graduate, with a FINSIA Diploma in Financial Services, he is a Graduate of the Advertising School of Australia, he studied politics at the Australian National University and is a qualified change manager.

He has worked for a number of Senior Ministers, serving as Director of Strategy & Communications for Federal Treasurer Scott Morrison and as Senior Tax Adviser to Federal Treasurer Joe Hockey. Previously he served as Senior Adviser and Press Secretary to the Deputy Leader in the Senate and Minister for Communications the Hon Richard Alston, as well helping to establish the portfolio of Human Services under Minister Hockey and setting up the Work for the Dole scheme under Minister David Kemp.

About Leonis Advisory
Sasha Grebe is a senior government and corporate adviser who has worked on some of Australia’s largest and most contentious policy issues and political challenges.
Working for the previous Prime Minister Scott Morrison and the former Treasurer Joe Hockey, Sasha worked on foreign investment policy, taxation, banking, superannuation, and financial sector reform, as well as the government’s fiscal program. Sasha established the FinTech Advisory Board and developed the Commonwealth Government FinTech Positioning Paper, leading to the removal of GST from cryptocurrency and the introduction of the national Crowdfunding legislation.
In his corporate and political roles, Sasha has worked across banking and finance, training and education, telecommunications, cyber security, public utilities, mining, construction, asset management, services contracting, defence, health, transport, agriculture, energy and tourism. During these roles he has managed large teams and served on senior leadership teams and worked closely with Boards, CEOs and senior leaders.
Working across South-East Asia, he built one of the world's first non-incineration waste-to-energy facilities in the Philippines with a commercial agreements in Indonesia and a power purchasing agreement with the government in New Delhi. As Director Professional Affairs & Advocacy at the Royal Australasian College of Physicians he was the National Director of the Commonwealth Rural Health Continuing Education (RHCE) program and he was head of HR for the organisation.
Sasha worked on the franchise transition for Yarra Trams, where he managed internal communications and branding, drawing on his change management and corporate communications skills for a smooth hand over of operators.

During this time at the Australian Wheat Board (AWB) he was the Government Relations & Trade Advocacy Manager and then the Group Regulatory Affairs Manager in the Corporate Risk team, helping the company the company and the difficult transition to new wheat marketing arrangements. Sasha also travelled to the Middle East to resolve the outstanding demurrage dispute with the Government of Iraq.

In addition to managing the corporate scandal of AWB Sasha was also the General Manager Corporate Affairs at Tourism Australia during the highly controversial "So where the bloody hell are you?" campaign.

In his most recent corporate role, he was Executive General Manager, Customer & Government Partnerships at Downer EDI where he worked in the Strategy and Growth team on a number of major infrastructure and services tenders and contracts, including energy, asset management contracts and services projects. During this time Sasha worked on the acquisition of the Spotless Group and resolution of the Royal Adelaide Hospital contractural dispute.
Recently Sasha has been representing clients and liaising with state and Commonwealth governments on energy and other national policies. He has strong working relationship across government, having worked for the Howard Government, the Abbott and Turnbull Governments, and working previously with the Rudd and Gillard Governments on transport, health and agriculture policy. He is highly respected across the public service, working closely with central agencies PM&C, Treasury and Finance, as well as other departments, along with government agencies, regulators and authorities.
